My September Reads

Another busy month, heavy on writing and light on reading. We have also been streaming more than usual which I may have to cut back on, but there’s a lot of good content across the streaming platforms!

I have a wonderful stack of books on deck for October, starting with Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid, which I am at 25% and LOVING it.

These are the top ten on my October TBR list:

  • The Impossible Fortune (Book 5 of The Thursday Murder Club) by Richard Osman (sure to be *****)
  • A Marriage at Sea: A True Story of Love, Obsession, and Shipwreck by Sophie Elmhirst (very interesting story here, this is a memoir)
  • The Mysterious Affair of Judith Potts (Book 5 of The Marlow Murder Club Mystery) by Robert Thorogood (the PBS series is EXCELLENT)
  • The Correspondent by Virginia Evans (for my neighborhood book club, its told in epistolary style, one of my favorite styles)
  • The Doorman by Chris Pavone (love his books, met him at the Gaithersburg Book Festival years ago!)
  • Buckeye by Patrick Ryan (Jenna Bush book club pick)
  • A Good Hard Look by Ann Napolitano (love, love, love her books, Dear Edward, Hello Beautiful, Within Arm’s Reach)
  • The Dogs of Venice by Steven Rowley (absolutely adored The Guncle!)
  • The Names by Florence Knapp (another Jenna Bush book club pick)
  • Memorial Days: A Memoir by Geraldine Brooks (have put this off because I know it will make me sad)

Now that might seem like a lot for October…ten to be read and one being read currently! But I tend to read more in the winter months and last January and February I read eight books each month! Plus, I have two long flights in October, which is prime reading time for me!

Big shout-out to my local library, Aspen Hill branch of Montgomery County (MD) Public Libraries, Libby, and my Kindle for keeping me stocked with great books to read.

I’ll keep you posted through my book reviews posted here of what I actually get through this month! Stay tuned!

And, on this beautiful fall October day, my favorite month and my favorite season, Happy Reading!
